...about to take off!! I just printed off a bunch of information on how to start a Happiness Project group. For those of you who don't know, I found this wonderful site run by Gretchen Rubin. She decided that she wanted to become a happier person (don't we all????) and she wrote about her efforts. You can read about it on her website or buy her book. This is something that I want to try and do...
One of the things that she has on her website is a quiz asking you "How well do you know yourself?" I think I know myself pretty well, so let's see how this works:
1. What part of the newspaper do you read first?
When I read the paper, and it isn't often, I always like to start out with the Parade section. Ya know-the insert with all the questions about movie stars and random bits of Hollywood fluff. I wanted to be an actress when I was little and my love of all things related to show biz has never ended. I am a loyal addict of imdb.com and going to the movies is one of my favorite things to do!
2. What are three books you’ve read in the past year?
I am rereading the Twilight series; I have also read The Host by Stephenie Meyers. What else have I read???? I read a lot of beach novels, light, entertaining reads by Nora Roberts, Jude Deveraux, and Diana Palmer. I also read books like "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "Wicked". I also like to read young adult literature and am a huge fan of the Percy Jackson series (the movie comes out in time for my birthday next year!!).
3. As a child, what did you do in your free time?
Read, listened to music, and played the piano. At one point in time, I actually had a piano in my room and everyone could tell what I was feeling, depending on how loud I played!! Music has always been one of my favorite things. I remember putting on my favorite tape (pre-CD!!) and then just sitting and writing what it made me think of. Hmmmmm...haven't done that for a while...
4. What’s a goal that has been on your list for a few years?
PLAY GUITAR!!! I am absolutely obsessed with this goal. I am really hoping to learn how to play it by this time next year.
5. What do you actually do with your free time?
Most of the time, I hang out with my kids, watching TV and VERY occasionally playing video games. I love to read!!! and watch TV. Sometimes I will feel motivated to clean the house. ; )
6. What types of activities energize you?
Dancing. I got out my, yes, MY!!, DDR dancepad and danced the other night. I could do that for hours...or, well, more realistically, until I run out of breath.
7. What famous people intrigue you?
Most. I would really like to meet writers, especially the ones mentioned above. I would also like to meet different movie stars, but who changes from day to day.
***
Well, that is a lot to think about right now... and I need to get back to work...

Let the games begin...
Not really sure what that meant...just killing time until a commercial is over, and the show is over because I am finally watching the Glee episodes that I have DVR'd. I cannot express to you how much I love that show. Needless to say, it is right up there with Gilmore Girls. It may not have the crazy woman with the smart daughter who talks incredibly fast...but it has TEACHERS and SINGING and TEACHERS SINGING!! : D It is amazing. The story is a bit overdramatic (hmmmm...so is my life?), but there are some very talented people on this show.
Moving on to favorites...I went and saw New Moon. Twice. Which is probably not a lot compared to other fans out there, but I will say that I enjoyed it both times. I think that they were able to flesh out the story a little more. It was longer than the first (BRAVO!) and, imho, closer to the book. At least, Jasper was able to speak a little bit more. (Total side note: for those of you who are fans of this series and The Last Airbender...Jasper is set to play Sokka! Woohoo!!) While I will say that Jacob was intense, smoldering, and sculpted, there is still no beating the endless, eternal love that Bella and Edward have for each other. The drama that goes on off screen, be it true or not, only adds to the chemistry between them. I am anxiously awaiting Eclipse, and am currently re-reading the series to refresh my memories.
One last thought, as my thoughts are fast drifting away due to sleep deprivation, is that I am very ready for the holiday season.
Show is on...must go and then go to bed!
